STRABAG Expands Operations Through the Acquisition of DAROCONSTRUCT

STRABAG has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares in the Romanian construction company DAROCONSTRUCT, headquartered in Iași, continuing its growth strategy in the Romanian market. The completion of the transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected during the second half of 2026.

Through this acquisition, the company aims to strengthen its execution capabilities and expand its presence in eastern Romania, one of the country’s regions with significant potential for infrastructure and construction projects.

Romania Remains a Strategic Market for STRABAG

Local Expertise and Expanded Operational Capacity

Founded in 2005, DAROCONSTRUCT operates in civil engineering, road infrastructure, bridge construction, and utility networks. At the end of 2025, the company reported revenues of approximately RON 70 million and employed around 400 people.

The integration of DAROCONSTRUCT into the STRABAG Group will bring valuable local expertise and established client relationships, further strengthening the Group’s operational capacity in Romania.

Infrastructure Investment Continues to Drive Growth

STRABAG considers Romania one of the most promising growth markets in Southeast Europe. Ongoing investments in transport infrastructure, urban development projects, and European funding programmes continue to generate significant opportunities for the construction sector.

According to company representatives, the planned acquisition represents an investment in local expertise and the development of a strong regional presence built on long-term teams and partnerships.

Transaction Subject to Regulatory Approval

The acquisition will be completed once all required approvals have been obtained from the relevant authorities. If the process proceeds according to schedule, DAROCONSTRUCT will officially become part of the STRABAG Group during the second half of 2026, further strengthening the company’s position in Romania’s construction market.
