Primark Invests Over €8 Million in Its First Store in Sibiu
Fashion retailer Primark has expanded its Romanian network by opening its first store in Sibiu, located in Shopping City Sibiu. The investment exceeds €8 million, and the new store has created more than 100 local jobs.
The store offers over 2,300 square metres of retail space on a single level, featuring the brand’s clothing collections, homeware, beauty products, and accessories.
Expansion in Romania Continues at a Rapid Pace
The opening of the Sibiu store comes just one month after the inauguration of the company’s new location in Craiova and is part of Primark’s broader expansion strategy in Romania. By the end of 2026, the retailer plans to open additional stores in Iași and Bacău, while a third Bucharest location at Sun Plaza is scheduled to open during the 2026–2027 financial year.
Following these investments, Primark’s Romanian network will grow to nine stores, strengthening the country’s position among the retailer’s key markets in Central and Eastern Europe.
Affordable Products and Sustainability Goals
A Complete Range for the Entire Family
The new store offers fashion for women, men, and children, alongside beauty products, home décor, and household accessories, maintaining the company’s strategy of combining affordable prices with a broad product selection.
At the same time, Primark continues to expand its range of products made from recycled or more sustainably sourced materials. Currently, approximately 74% of the retailer’s clothing is produced using such materials, with the company aiming to increase this share to 100% by 2030.
Romania Becomes a Strategic Market for Primark
According to company representatives, the rapid expansion reflects confidence in the Romanian market and growing demand for the retailer’s value-focused retail concept. Primark currently operates six stores in Romania: two in Bucharest and one each in Timișoara, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, and Sibiu.
Through the investments planned for the coming years, the retailer continues to strengthen its presence in Romania while pursuing expansion across the country’s major cities.
