
Saint-Gobain Strengthens European Presence with Strategic Moves Worth Over €160 Million
Saint-Gobain has undertaken three major strategic transactions across Europe, further solidifying its competitive position in the region. These moves, in line with the Group’s “Grow & Impact” strategy, aim to optimize and diversify its portfolio while fostering sustainable growth in the construction industry.
Acquisition of Kilwaughter in the UK and Ireland
The Group has acquired Kilwaughter, a leading player in the construction chemicals sector specializing in facade mortars. The company, known for reputable brands like K Rend and K Systems, generated approximately £50 million in revenue in the fiscal year ending April 2024. Kilwaughter’s integration will bolster Saint-Gobain’s operations in Northern Europe.
Sale of PAM Building for €110 Million Revenue Business
Saint-Gobain has completed the sale of its PAM Building subsidiary to Aldebaran, a French institutional investment fund, with a minority stake held by Bpifrance. PAM Building, which focuses on pipe and fitting solutions for wastewater and rainwater drainage, operates in Bayard, France, and Telford, UK. The unit, with 400 employees, reported €110 million in revenue in 2023.
Full Ownership of Turkish Insulation Firm His Yalıtım
İzocam, a Saint-Gobain co-owned insulation manufacturer in Turkey, has acquired full ownership of His Yalıtım, a local producer of basalt mineral wool. Based in Kayseri and employing around 170 staff, this acquisition enhances İzocam’s leading position in Turkey, where it already operates four high-quality insulation manufacturing facilities.
These transactions underscore Saint-Gobain’s commitment to accelerating growth and offering lightweight, sustainable construction solutions. The company generated €47.9 billion in global sales in 2023 and employs 160,000 people across 76 countries.
