E.ON delivers 400 photovoltaic power plants to Romanian companies, exceeding EUR 75 million in project value

E.ON Energie România has reached the milestone of 400 photovoltaic power plants delivered to business clients across the country, with a total investment exceeding EUR 75 million. The turnkey systems were installed on a total surface of over 374,000 square metres.

The 187,000 solar modules installed generate approximately 105 GWh of electricity annually, equivalent to the consumption of a large city such as Iași or Brașov. The total installed capacity is 84.3 MWp, and CO₂ emissions are reduced by about 19,000 tonnes per year – comparable to the annual emissions of 10,000 petrol-powered cars.

Among the completed projects, one was developed for Cemacon in Sălaj County, featuring 2,176 solar panels and an estimated annual production of 976 MWh. In Timiș County, a system for Continental Automotive România includes 1,440 panels producing around 715 MWh per year, reducing emissions by 152 tonnes of CO₂.

E.ON is also expanding its focus on long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), providing stable pricing to business partners. The first such contract was signed earlier this year with Webasto Arad. The EUR 1 million project will supply 1,530 MWh of green energy per year for 15 years, at a fixed price adjusted annually.

“Through the development of customised green energy solutions, we help companies better control their energy costs, become more competitive, and be more resilient to market changes,” said Claudia Griech, General Manager of E.ON Energie România.
