German DIY retailer HORNBACH will open its second store in Timișoara on October 1, 2025, following a total investment of over EUR 44 million. Located at 152 Calea Buziașului, the new location is part of the company’s expansion strategy in Romania.

The store covers over 19,000 square meters, split into three key areas: 8,200 m² indoor space, 5,000 m² Drive In zone, and 5,800 m² dedicated to the garden center. The property sits on a 55,000 m² plot and features 570 parking spaces and more than 12,000 m² of green space, including 200 trees, 1,200 shrubs, flower meadows, and an automated irrigation system.

“We received numerous requests from customers in this part of the city who had to travel long distances to reach us. With the new location, residents from Moșnița, Urseni, or Giroc can get to HORNBACH in under 15 minutes,” said Radu Oniga, General Manager of HORNBACH Romania.

In addition to the store investment, HORNBACH allocated over EUR 2 million for public infrastructure, including the construction of more than 500 meters of roads and a new intersection, fully equipped with all necessary utilities.

The building is certified by DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council), one of the most stringent international sustainability standards. The facility includes photovoltaic panels, heat pumps, LED lighting, ventilation with heat recovery, and high-efficiency thermal insulation.

The local team includes more than 120 employees, over 90% of whom are already recruited and undergoing training. With this new opening, HORNBACH surpasses 1,500 employees in Romania.
