Dino Parc Rasnov, a leading tourist attraction, has significantly impacted the economy of Rasnov city, doubling it within the past eight years. According to an economic impact study by BrandBerry, the theme park has boosted the local economy by attracting over 35 million tourists since its opening in 2015, adding more than 100 million euros to local businesses.

The study indicates that Dino Parc Rasnov has directly and indirectly generated between 460 and 625 jobs. Additionally, in 2023, the park provided over 18 million lei in financial support to the educational system through free admissions during the “School Otherwise” and “Green Week” programs.

Economic Catalyst

Dino Parc Rasnov opened in 2015 and quickly became an economic catalyst for the city and the most popular family tourist destination in Romania. The study by BrandBerry highlights that Dino Parc doubled Rasnov’s economy, adding over 100 million euros to local businesses. It also had a significant impact on the hospitality industry in Brasov County, contributing at least 50 million euros and over a quarter of a billion euros to the county’s GDP from 2015 to 2023.

Tourist Magnet

Dino Parc Rasnov is a major draw for families with children, surpassing other renowned attractions such as Huniazilor Castle and Antipa Museum in online searches. From 2016 to 2023, it even outperformed Bran Castle in terms of tourist interest.

“From the start, we envisioned Dino Parc as more than just an entertainment space; we saw its potential to benefit the community. Today, we are proud to see Dino Parc as one of the most beloved tourist attractions, drawing over 35 million visitors and contributing to the prosperity of Rasnov,” said Adrian Apostu, General Manager of Dino Parc Rasnov.

With approximately half a million visitors annually, the park has driven a nearly 400% increase in tourists to Rasnov since its opening, compared to 2010.

HoReCa Sector Boom

The theme park has become a vital support for local businesses, especially in the hospitality sector. With Rasnov Fortress undergoing renovations for over four years, Dino Parc has helped maintain visitor numbers, preventing potential financial losses. Since its inception, the park has attracted over 35 million visitors, with more than half visiting specifically for Dino Parc, enhancing Rasnov’s brand and increasing its national and international visibility.

“Dino Parc Rasnov exemplifies how strategic investment and efficient management can revitalize a region through tourism. Over eight years, the park has significantly impacted tourism in Brasov County, boosting the number of tourists and contributing to the local economy,” said Călin Ile, Partner at BrandBerry and Senior Partner at Premium Hospitality.

The presence of Dino Parc has also spurred business opportunities. The number of HoReCa firms increased by 45 units, and other business sectors saw a rise of 190 units in the eight years since the park’s opening. The economic impact is further reflected in job creation, with Dino Parc generating between 183 and 250 jobs in hospitality and between 275 and 375 jobs in other industries due to tourism’s multiplier effect. Currently, 61% to 83% of Rasnov’s active population earns income directly or indirectly from Dino Parc.

Educational Commitment

Dino Parc has also shown a strong commitment to education. In 2023, approximately 60,000 children benefitted from free access during educational programs, representing significant financial support for their families. Free entry is available year-round for local students, demonstrating the park’s ongoing dedication to the community.

Dino Parc Rasnov has not only stabilized Rasnov’s tourism but also integrated it into the national and international tourist circuit. The park’s achievements have been recognized with several awards, including the “Destination of the Year 2023” and the “Tripadvisor Travelers Choice Award.”
