Metropolitan Life Reports 24% Increase in Gross Written Premiums in Q1 2024

Metropolitan Life, a key player in Romania’s life insurance market, announced a significant 24% increase in gross written premiums for the first quarter of 2024. The company reported gross premiums totaling 193.8 million lei, up from 155.9 million lei during the same period in 2023.

The remarkable growth underscores Metropolitan Life’s commitment to delivering financial protection products tailored to customer needs. Carmina Dragomir, CEO of Metropolitan Life, highlighted the strategic focus on innovation and enhancing customer experience as the driving forces behind the company’s success. “This 24% increase in gross written premiums reflects our ongoing dedication and strategic approach,” Dragomir stated. “Our greatest achievement is solidifying our market position as a trusted partner for Romanians, and we thank our customers for their trust in our financial protection products over the past 25 years.”

Additionally, Metropolitan Life paid out 67.7 million lei in benefits in Q1 2024, a 57.6% increase compared to 42.9 million lei in the same period last year. This increase further demonstrates the company’s robust financial health and its ability to support policyholders.
