EBRD and Eiffel Investment Group Commit €244 Million for Solar Plant in Romania

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Eiffel Investment Group have announced a substantial investment of €244 million to fund the construction of a new solar power plant in Romania. The financing will be provided equally by both entities, with each contributing €122 million to INVL Renewable Energy Fund I, a fund managed by INVL Asset Management, a leading asset manager in the Baltic states.

This funding will support the development of a 60 MW solar power plant in Dolj County, Romania, marking the second major project for INVL Renewable Energy Fund I in the country. The project is part of a broader initiative by the fund to expand renewable energy capacity in Romania, with a total of eight solar parks planned, offering a combined capacity of 451 MW.

In addition to its projects in Romania, INVL Renewable Energy Fund I is also developing over 32 MW of solar capacity in Poland. The total investment in the Romanian and Polish projects is expected to exceed €330 million, with all solar parks slated for completion by the end of Q3 2026.

Liudas Liutkevičius, Managing Partner at INVL Renewable Energy Fund I, expressed gratitude for the confidence shown by the EBRD and Eiffel Investment Group, noting that the financing will accelerate the development of ongoing projects and significantly boost Romania’s renewable energy production capacity.
