Teachings of Coronavirus pandemic

After almost a year, we are still trapped in the web of the Coronavirus crisis. Even though positive evolutions can be seen, for sure, several months will still have to go by till we reach again a stable situation in our lives. What can these times teach us, and what can we personally learn from them?

Each change presents itself with a breakthrough towards new opportunities

Changes in our lives don’t have to be seen only as negative events, new opportunities might appear, even though they might not be immediately visible. Pandemic will change our future a lot, and most of that cannot be estimated yet. In certain fields, pandemic acts like a turbo engine propelling everything at high speed. Companies have fought for years with the idea of work from home, and now the crisis made work from home an integrant part of our professional life and will dramatically change the way we work. Many of us don’t take changes easily, we hang on too much to what we are used to, to what offers us stability. First, it is very important to accept the situation as is. You cannot change it. If you can do this rapidly, you will get rid of the existing bad energy and you will be to see the solutions much faster. Many realise during these times that, in fact, there is no such thing as continuity, to keep the same status quo forever, as we imagine and wish to have it. Nevertheless, this awareness means also a chance to look deeper within ourselves and to see the peace within, which is always present somewhere deep down, regardless of what happens around us.

Rethinking our life priorities

Many of us experience the effects of the pandemic on our own emotions: we are more worried, stressed and our good humour suffers frequently. Maybe you have seen as well that what seemed completely normal before is seen now as being special, such as meeting people, going outside in the open air, exchanging ideas with others, hugging. I hear more and more often about people rethinking their lives as a consequence of the pandemic and they establish new priorities. The pandemic will end at some point, and then, life will go on. Many people already prepare themselves for that moment. Think about what is particularly important to you now, during these times, even if is just about small things. What would you like to do differently „after”?

Become an active player during change

Of course, there are many people these days whose jobs are threatened, but, on the other hand, we can see also a lot of ingenuity related to how we can survive despite the crisis. Good examples in this sense are some of the restaurants which very creatively tried to keep their businesses alive by building original terraces, observing at the same time the legal requirements. The idea is to not fall into the victim’s role, and to use the opportunities pro-actively. Many new business models are created right now, especially in the digital area. Not everything that happens before our eyes is bad.

Pay attention to your own perception. Pay attention to what or who influences your thoughts. We are in constant contact with a negative flow of information from media, but also from conversations, so do not let yourselves caught up in this web. Finally, you decide how you perceive reality. Your biggest help in this sense is the conscient control over your own attention.

I wish you a good New Year.
