Schneider Electric Helps Reduce CO2 Emissions by 553 Million Tons Since 2018, Named World’s Most Sustainable Company
Schneider Electric has been recognized as the world’s most sustainable company for 2024 by Time magazine and Statista. This accolade highlights Schneider Electric’s significant achievements, including helping to reduce 553 million tons of CO2 emissions since 2018, and its commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability.
Time and Statista employed a transparent, multi-stage methodology to identify the world’s most sustainable companies for 2024. The evaluation began with over 5,000 of the largest and most influential global companies. After a rigorous four-stage assessment, the final ranking excluded unsustainable industries and considered factors such as external evaluations, sustainability commitments, corporate reporting practices, and social and environmental performance indicators. This comprehensive approach resulted in a ranking of 500 companies from over 30 countries.
Both Time and Statista emphasized Schneider Electric’s technological expertise and its Schneider Sustainability Impact (SSI) program. This transformative program drives and measures the company’s progress toward its global sustainability goals for 2021-2025, contributing to six long-term commitments across all dimensions of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. Notably, Schneider Electric has aided its customers in reducing carbon emissions by 553 million tons of CO2 since 2018. Additionally, the company has made significant progress in transforming its supply chain, reducing carbon emissions from its top 1,000 suppliers by 27% since the program’s inception. Furthermore, 21% of Schneider Electric’s most strategic supply chain partners have met the company’s decent work standards.
Schneider Electric was also recently included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for the 13th consecutive year, ranking first in its industry and securing a place in the European index. This achievement reflects the company’s strong environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance, with sustainability at the core of its strategy.
