Ford Otosan Romania, one of the largest vehicle manufacturers in Romania, has signed a syndicated credit facility totaling EUR 435 million to finance ongoing facility, vehicle, and engineering investment projects at its Craiova plant. The financing will be used to support the production of the new Ford Puma, the Ford Transit Courier and Ford Tourneo Courier models, as well as the production of their all-electric versions.
In the syndicated loan for Ford Otosan Romania, BCR is participating with EUR 84 million, representing 19.3% of the total financing.
The banks syndicate includes Banca Comercială Română S.A. and Banca Transilvania S.A., which acted as Mandated Lead Arrangers, together with Garantibank International NV and Garanti Bank S.A, as Lead Arrangers, BNP Paribas S.A. Paris Bucharest Branch as Senior Arranger and Citibank Europe Plc Dublin, Romania Branch together with UniCredit Bank S.A. as Arrangers. Société Générale, together with BRD, its Romanian branch, acted as Coordinators, Mandated Lead Arrangers, Bookrunners and Documentation Agents.

Gül Ertuğ, CFO of Ford Otosan, emphasized the crucial role of the Craiova plant in both Ford Otosan’s operations and Romania’s position in electric vehicle manufacturing in Europe. She described the syndicated credit agreement is a strategic move underscoring Craiova’s significance in their future strategies.
