Starting September 2024, José Alberto Chueca Val will take over as CEO of Lidl România, succeeding Marco Giudici, who will assume a strategic position in Lidl Group’s international procurement team. Giudici, who led Lidl România for three years, oversaw significant financial performance and growth, along with substantial investments in the Romanian market.

During Giudici’s tenure, Lidl România launched numerous employee-focused initiatives and underwent organizational transformations, highlighting the company’s commitment to employee well-being. His leadership also saw key appointments within Lidl România’s Board of Directors, including Georgiana Radu as National Director of Procurement and Marketing, Irina Mușan as National Director of Central Services and Expansion, and Ionela Sulugiuc as National Director of Human Resources.

Reflecting on his time in Romania, Giudici remarked, “Having spent over a decade here, I’ve experienced numerous milestones with an extraordinary team, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent recovery period. I’m proud of our efforts to mitigate supply chain challenges and inflation impacts. Lidl România’s success is driven by our dedicated team of over 12,000 employees, and I’m confident in their continued excellence under Alberto’s leadership.”

José Alberto Chueca Val brings nearly 20 years of experience in retail, including significant roles within Lidl Spain as Director of Sales and Operations. Starting July 1, 2024, Yohann Guyard will join Lidl România’s Board as National Sales Director, replacing Damian Nowicki, who returns to Lidl Poland. Guyard has been part of Lidl since 2006, advancing through various leadership positions, most recently as National Sales and Logistics Director in Lidl France.
