Ford Otosan Appoints New President and General Manager for Craiova Plant

Ford Otosan has announced that starting June 1, Fırat Elhüseyni will assume the role of President and General Manager at Ford Otosan Craiova, succeeding Müjdat Tiryaki. Tiryaki will take on new responsibilities as Next Generation Manufacturing Lead at the company’s headquarters in Turkey.

Elhüseyni began his career at Ford Otosan in April 2002 as a process engineer at the Gölcük Body Shop. Over his 22-year career, he has gained international experience in China, Vietnam, and Russia, and worked at the Kocaeli and Eskişehir plants in Turkey. His extensive background includes project management, production line operations, and plant leadership. Since April 2022, Elhüseyni has served as the Plant Manager of the Eskişehir facility, overseeing truck and engine production.

Tiryaki, with over 24 years at Ford Otosan, has been instrumental in transitioning the Craiova plant to Ford Otosan, implementing new working systems, enhancing the company’s recognition in Romania, and launching the Ford Transit Courier and Tourneo Courier models. In his new role, Tiryaki will focus on future investments and projects in Turkey and Romania, aligning with the company’s strategy to innovate in the automotive industry.

Elhüseyni will be responsible for overseeing all vehicle and engine production operations at the Craiova plant, which is central to Ford Otosan’s electrification plans, including the upcoming launches of the E-Transit Courier, E-Tourneo Courier, and Puma Gen-E. His start date is contingent on work permit approval.

Elhüseyni holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, a Master of Science from Sakarya University, and is currently completing his Ph.D. at Sakarya University’s Mechanical Engineering Department.
