EIT InnoEnergy Raises €140 Million with New Strategic Investors OMV, OMV Petrom, and ACB Participaties B.V.

EIT InnoEnergy, a leading force in sustainable energy innovation, has successfully completed a €140 million private placement round, welcoming new investors OMV, OMV Petrom, and ACB Participaties B.V. These additions are set to bolster EIT InnoEnergy’s impact across Europe and the U.S.

The private placement significantly expands EIT InnoEnergy’s capital base, enhancing its ability to drive the energy transition. The funds will be utilized to (1) increase the flow of new transactions, (2) support the growth of the 200 companies in its current portfolio, (3) launch new industrial champions leveraging the Net Zero Industrial Act (NZIA) framework, and (4) accelerate expansion into the U.S. market.

Diego Pavia, CEO of EIT InnoEnergy, commented on the new investments: “The inclusion of OMV, OMV Petrom, and ACB Participaties B.V. is a strong vote of confidence in EIT InnoEnergy’s ability to accelerate the sustainable energy transition and achieve Europe’s reindustrialization goals. Their commitment to net zero is a guiding beacon for many of their peers. EIT InnoEnergy believes that the speed of the energy transition will increase if our partner companies accelerate their transformation. It requires a concerted effort from all sectors, and we are here to support such transitions.”

Anne-Marie Rakhorst from ACB Participaties B.V. and member of EIT InnoEnergy’s Supervisory Board, added: “If you truly want to accelerate the energy transition, invest in InnoEnergy. It’s time to scale up, it’s time to grow.”

The new investors join 35 existing shareholders representing various industrial, financial, educational, and digital sectors. These shareholders include prominent names such as EDF, ENGIE, Renault, Schneider Electric, Siemens, and Volkswagen.

EIT InnoEnergy has a portfolio of over 200 companies, projected to generate €110 billion in revenue and save 21 gigatonnes of CO2 emissions by 2030. Collectively, these companies have raised over €25 billion in investments to date.
