Danone România Appoints Oana Bejan as Country Topline Unit Leader

Danone România has announced a strategic organizational change with the appointment of Oana Bejan as the new Country Topline Unit Leader, effective from June. Bejan, who brings over 18 years of experience in the FMCG sector, will be responsible for overseeing the company’s commercial operations, leveraging her extensive background in both retail and production to maintain and strengthen Danone’s leading position in the local market.

Bejan’s tenure at Danone began in 2013, during which she has held various leadership roles in the sales department, contributing significantly to the company’s growth and market dominance in the yogurt and plant-based product segments. Her expertise has been pivotal in driving cross-functional projects aimed at boosting sales and differentiating Danone in a dynamic market. This leadership transition occurs at a celebratory time for Danone România, which marks 25 years of local production this year.

Under Bejan’s leadership, Danone România plans to continue its commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle, investing in innovation, and ensuring sustainability. Bejan stated, “Assuming this role during Danone România’s anniversary is both an honor and a significant responsibility. We will continue to invest in innovation and sustainability, ensuring that every decision reflects our core values. Our commitment to supporting communities and protecting the environment will remain central to all our initiatives.”

Danone România’s strong focus on health and well-being is evident in its dedication to high-quality products and sustainable practices. The company’s selection of ingredients ensures that every Danone product meets the highest international standards for quality and food safety. The Bucharest factory, the most efficient Danone plant in Europe, exclusively uses Romanian milk from local farmers, supplying dairy products to Romania and 14 other European countries.

In recent years, Danone România has faced challenges such as inflation and changing consumer behaviors, yet the company has successfully adapted through innovative strategies. At the end of the previous year, Danone România achieved B Corp certification, joining a global movement of over 6,000 companies across 80 countries and 150 industries committed to rigorous social and environmental performance standards, transparency, and accountability.

This milestone underscores Danone’s long-term mission to bring health through food to as many people as possible, inspiring healthier and more sustainable eating and consumption practices while achieving measurable nutritional, social, and environmental impact.
