Apa Nova București Invests €975,000 in Floreasca Emergency Hospital
Apa Nova București (ANB), the water supply and sewage service provider for the Municipality of Bucharest, has announced a significant investment of €975,000 in the rehabilitation of the Surgery II Wing of the Floreasca Emergency Hospital. This initiative follows the company’s previous efforts, including a €500,000 project in 2022 to modernize a post-operative room.
The rehabilitation project includes the development of 11 modern rooms, five with two beds and six with one bed, totaling 16 beds. Each room is equipped with its own bathroom. The project also involves the modernization of the access hall and reception area, significantly enhancing the quality of medical care and providing optimal treatment and recovery conditions for patients.
This investment includes state-of-the-art medical equipment, modern infrastructure, and facilities designed to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for both patients and medical staff. Each room is furnished with electric beds, anti-decubitus mattresses, oxygen ramps, medical staff call systems, and vital signs monitors, all connected to a central reception where medical staff is permanently present.
“This new investment of nearly one million euros for the Floreasca Emergency Hospital is a natural continuation of our efforts to create a modern and comfortable post-operative environment for patients. We believe that through this project, we fulfill our moral duty to improve hospital conditions and reward Romanian doctors who perform miracles with limited resources. We want this space to offer patients a high-standard recovery environment, reflecting our respect for the community and our commitment to ensuring the well-being of those who trust our services,” said Mădălin Mihailovici, General Director of Apa Nova București.
The renovation has also created a relaxing aesthetic impact through the use of premium finishes in the rooms (colors, materials, and ambient lighting), and has significantly improved the ergonomics of the rooms and bathrooms, making them more spacious and equipped with modern sanitary fixtures, accommodating even people with mobility impairments.
“Patients of the Floreasca Emergency Hospital will benefit from this new investment through state-of-the-art medical facilities and superior recovery conditions that will allow for a shorter healing process in a friendly and comfortable environment. Thanks to access to modern resources and technologies, the medical staff will be able to provide care at the highest standards, an essential aspect for the optimal treatment and recovery of the people who come to our hospital unit. Thus, each patient will receive a high level of comfort and care in accordance with the latest medical standards,” said Dr. George Jinescu, the medical coordinator of the project at Floreasca Emergency Hospital.
This modernization follows the successful 2022 project when Apa Nova București completely refurbished and equipped a post-operative room with state-of-the-art equipment in the same surgery section, contributing to the improvement of medical services provided to patients after complex surgical interventions. Since its opening, hundreds of patients have benefited from top post-operative medical services.
Since 2000, Apa Nova, a Veolia company, has taken on the responsibility of managing water resources, treating and distributing water to consumers, and evacuating wastewater and stormwater from the Municipality of Bucharest. Over 24 years, the water supply and sewage system has been rehabilitated, modernized, and developed according to the best industrial practices in the field, achievements that translate into investments of €693 million to date.
