Ahold Delhaize Announces Leadership Changes at Profi România
Ahold Delhaize has confirmed that starting July 1, 2025, Mihai Spulber, currently serving as Senior Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain at Mega Image, will assume the role of CEO at Profi România. This transition follows the announcement that Gaetan Pacton, the current CEO, will step down after 13 years of service marked by significant achievements.
The announcement comes as Ahold Delhaize recently finalized the acquisition of Profi, making it the 17th brand in its international portfolio spanning Europe, the United States, and Indonesia.
Claude Sarrailh, CEO of Ahold Delhaize Europe and Indonesia, expressed gratitude for Pacton’s contributions, particularly during the acquisition process. “Gaetan has played a key role in expanding Profi’s presence in Romania and in its mission to provide customers with high-quality and affordable products,” Sarrailh stated. Regarding Spulber, Sarrailh emphasized his extensive expertise in the Romanian retail sector, noting that his financial, operational, and supply chain experience positions him well to lead Profi’s integration into the Ahold Delhaize family.
Spulber, reflecting on his appointment, highlighted the potential of Profi under the Ahold Delhaize umbrella. “I am honored to lead Profi and contribute to its integration within Ahold Delhaize. Together with the current team, we will focus on strengthening the company’s success,” he remarked, expressing gratitude to Pacton for his leadership and support during the transition.
For the next six months, Pacton will oversee Profi’s operations and work closely with Spulber to ensure a seamless transition. He departs with pride in the accomplishments of the Profi team and optimism about the company’s future under Spulber’s guidance.
