On March, 26, MARe/Muzeul de Artă Recentă [Recent Art Museum] hosted the first fundraising event for the benefit of MARe Foundation, supported also by the Hellenic-Romanian Bilateral Chamber of Commerce.

Among the guests were the sponsors and the partners of the MARe Foundation, but especially the representatives of private and public institutions and companies who supported its endeavors, as well as distinguished ladies from the diplomatic environment.

The event included a guided private tour, presenting the museum’s exhibitions, and a series of presentations and discussions.

During the event, Mrs. Andreea Diana Tănăsescu (La Blouse Roumaine) and Mrs. Cristina Niculescu (Borangic) took the floor.

Furthermore, Mr. Erwin Kessler, founding director of MARe talked with the artist Dumitru Gorzo about the Romanian blouse and the folk pattern in Romanian contemporary art, more particularly in the art of Dumitru Gorzo. The dialogue was broadcast live, on MARe/Muzeul de Artă Recentă [Recent Art Museum] Facebook page.

The funds raised during the event are going to be used for the first programme for children with hearing impairment, called: ”Imagini Sonore. Proiect artistic de orientare în spațiu pentru copiii hipoacuzici” [Sound images. Space orientation artistic project for children with hearing impairment].

The Educational Department is one of the most dynamic departments of MARe with the most dense and constant activity. Sunday creative workshops (for children between 4 and 12 years old) and the miniseries “MARe de Microfon La microfon cu oameni mari” [MARe for the Microphone. At microphone with great people], which brought before the children, eminent persons from different areas of activity, such as lawyer Alina Dumitrașcu and the gymnast Andreea Răducan, is going to be therefore complemented by this programme dedicated to children who face special challenges.
