HRCC 2021 GALA EVENT
Loyal to its traditions, on March 4th, 2021 the Hellenic Romanian Bilateral Chamber of Commerce had its Gala Event that is based on the Hellenic tradition of cutting a special pie, called „vasilopita”.
The event, that this year due to pandemics was online, was honored by HE the Ambassador of Greece to Bucharest, Ms. Sofia Grammata, the Ambassador of Romania to Athens, Mr. George Ciamba, the President of the Hellenic Union and Deputy in the Romanian Parliament, Mr. Dragos Gabriel Zisopol and of course of the Board of the Chamber, led by its Chairman, Mr. Christos Seferis and the General Secretary, Mr. Ioannis Alfieris.
During the event, that was live from Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in Bucharest, two prizes have been awarded, as every year.
The economic award this year was given to Chipita Romania, for its best financial performance in the year 2019. Mr. Christos Gkonis, CFO at Chipita, received the prize from the award winner of the previous year, Mr. Alexandros Diamantis, representing Group SofMedica.
The analysis and methodology were totally independent and transparent, professionally performed by Deloitte Romania. Our appreciation to Mr. Angelos Fragkos, M&A and Corporate Director, for his implication.
The second award, the cultural one, was given to Mr. Vassilis Chrelias, CEO of Diamedix, for his sustainable support to the promotion of Hellenic values, culture, and education in Romania.
The prize has been elaborated based on the contribution Mr. Chrelias had on publishing and translating into Romanian many Greek books, as the cultural committee – formed by Ms. Danae Stambuli, CEO Cytogenomic and Mr. Vangelis Vlastos, CFO at Alexandrion Group – shared with the public during the event.
An important part of the event was the vasilopita ceremony, where pieces of the special pie have been offered for Greece, Romania, the Chamber, the Embassy, and the Hellenic Union. Following the ceremony, an online lucky draw took place and the winner was offered a special gift on behalf of the Chamber.
Music also accompanied this ceremony, a Greek band from Thessaloniki singing live from a studio in Greece, especially for this event, cheering up the audience.
A Happy New Year to all, looking forward to a blessing spring!
