UE Furniture Acquires Rus Savitar in Major Romanian Furniture Sector Transaction

UE Furniture, a global leader in the production of chairs, armchairs, and sofas, has completed the acquisition of Rus Savitar, one of Romania’s largest furniture and chipboard manufacturers. The deal, facilitated by CBRE Romania, encompasses 120,000 sqm of land and 60,000 sqm of buildings located in Dudeștii Noi, Timiș County.

The acquisition marks a significant expansion for UE Furniture, the first Chinese company in its sector to be listed on the stock exchange. With over 20 years of industry experience, this is UE Furniture’s second major investment in Romania, following the establishment of a factory in Orăștie.

Rus Savitar, a family-owned business established in 1994, has become a key player in Romania’s furniture industry. Its founder and General Manager, Cristian Rusu, emphasized the strategic importance of the deal, stating, “Our strategy since acquiring the company has been to pay off all debts and return to profitability as quickly as possible. We have successfully achieved this goal, and we believe that the transaction with UE Furniture will lead to significant growth for Rus Savitar and its employees.”

CBRE Romania, the market leader in real estate consultancy, played a central role in managing the transaction. Mădălin Aresmerițoaie, Senior Consultant I&L at CBRE Romania, highlighted the local impact, saying, “The transaction between Rus Savitar and UE Furniture ensures both the continuity of local traditions in furniture production and a significant economic impact in the region, to the advantage of the community, which will be the main beneficiary of this deal.”

This acquisition represents a strategic move for UE Furniture as it continues to expand its global footprint, while ensuring the legacy of Romanian furniture craftsmanship remains strong.
