THETA Furniture & More records a 35% increase in turnover in 2023 to €15 million

Cătălin Rotaru, CEO of THETA Furniture & More

Theta Furniture & More, one of Romania’s leading integrators of interior design and fit-out solutions, announces that the company’s revenues have increased by 35% in 2023, in line with the business targets set at the beginning of the year.

“We are pleased with this result, especially as the year started in an unstable economic context with double-digit inflation, high interest rates and high energy prices. The good evolution in 2023, both at macro level and from our business perspective, makes us look optimistically towards 2024,” said Cătălin Rotaru, CEO of THETA Furniture & More. “This year’s business growth was made possible by the strong partnerships we have with our suppliers, the architects we collaborate with and our customers. Another growth driver this year was our own custom-made furniture factory near Ploiesti, which allowed us to successfully manage cost growth by streamlining the production process and meet our customers’ requirements in an optimal timeframe,” added Cătălin Rotaru.

In percentage terms, 40% of THETA Furniture & More’s turnover in 2023 was generated by customers from the Medical field, while the office interiors area brought in over 30% of business.

In the office segment, growth was also boosted by projects coming from the industrial and logistics space area, where customers wanted to provide modern working conditions for employees, comparable to those in Class A office buildings, to increase both the attractiveness of workspaces and staff retention. The structure is complemented by the Retail, HoReCa and, newer to the portfolio, Residential for Rent (Build to Rent) segments.

The largest percentage increases in THETA business came from Retail with a 50% increase and Medical with a 25% appreciation over 2022. In terms of the types of solutions and services offered, the largest increases came from the Custom-Made Furniture segment, with an appreciation of over 60% in 2023 compared to 2022, and Fit-Out, with an increase of 25%.

Among the most important projects for which the company has delivered, in 2023, interior design and fit-out solutions, custom-made and standard furniture are the Nord Pipera Hospital (about 16,000 sqm), the new Kronospan Design Center Bucharest (1,300 sqm), the Glovo offices in U•Center 2 (1,800 sqm), the new BAT Romania offices in Bucharest Business Park and many others. THETA Furniture & More is also active in other countries in the European Union, such as Belgium and France, one of the largest projects in its external portfolio being the Grand Hôpital de Charleroi, covering over 200,000 square meters, for which THETA delivered custom-made furniture for over 1,500 rooms.

Since its launch in 2008, THETA has worked with over 1,500 clients, both Romanian and international companies, in segments such as office, commercial, HoReCa and medical buildings. Thus, the company has fitted out over 350,000 sqm of interior spaces for clients with spaces located in buildings such as U•Center 2, Bucharest Business Park, AFI Park, Ana Tower Building, The Mark Building, Green Court Building (B and C), Oregon Park, Enayati Medical City, Hotel Sinaia (restaurant area), Hotel Mamaia, Sky Club and others.
