Swiss-Romanian Chamber of Commerce Facilitates Solutions for Hospitality Industry Challenges

The Swiss-Romanian Chamber of Commerce (CCE-R) is stepping in to help Romanian hospitality companies overcome significant workforce challenges by facilitating connections with Swiss training programs and solutions. These partnerships aim to enhance the skills and competencies of future managers, ensuring sustainable growth and development in the sector.

Investing in Professional Development

Romanian hospitality employers are focusing on innovative solutions to address workforce issues, such as high staff turnover and management skills gaps. A crucial part of this strategy involves collaboration with Swiss institutions to offer advanced training programs. These programs provide comprehensive education in hospitality management, operations, customer relations, marketing, and sales, aligning with the industry’s highest standards.

Dr. Adriana Cioca, President of the Swiss-Romanian Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the importance of investing in human capital: “Investing in the professional development of our employees is crucial. Training programs and career advancement opportunities not only enhance employee skills but also boost their motivation and loyalty. We must also provide adequate working conditions, competitive salaries, and attractive benefits packages.”

Facilitating Top-Tier Training Programs

The “Strategic Hospitality Management” (SHM) postgraduate program, a collaboration between the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies and EHL Advisory Services (Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne), exemplifies the high-quality training facilitated through these Swiss partnerships. Supported by Winsed.swiss Education Group, this program aims to prepare future managers to meet international standards. The SHM program, now in its fourth series, will commence in the fall of 2024.

Professor Dr. Ray F. Iunius, CEO of Winsed.swiss Education Group and member of the Swiss-Romanian Chamber of Commerce, noted: “Our goal is to support the development of hospitality management skills that meet international standards. By equipping managers with advanced competencies, we can help Romanian hospitality businesses thrive in a competitive market.”

Long-Term Benefits

Implementing sustainable practices inspired by the Swiss model can significantly enhance the performance of Romania’s hospitality sector. The CCE-R’s commitment to fostering these academic partnerships and professional development initiatives is expected to play a crucial role in the industry’s evolution. By focusing on quality training and strategic investments in human capital, Romanian hospitality employers are well-positioned to achieve long-term success.
