Flanco Reports 650 Million Lei in Sales in First Seven Months of 2024
Flanco, one of Romania’s leading electronics and home appliances retailers, achieved sales of 650 million lei in the first seven months of 2024, marking a 14% increase compared to the same period last year. This growth significantly outpaces the overall market for electro-IT products in Romania, which grew by approximately 9% during the same period.
According to Dragoș Sîrbu, CEO of Flanco, the physical stores have seen a notable resurgence in customer interest, with sales increasing by over 20% compared to the same period in 2023. This follows another substantial growth of 22% in 2023 compared to 2022. “The first seven months of 2024 mark a significant return of customer interest to physical stores after five years of varied market conditions and changes in consumer behavior,” said Sîrbu.
In addition to robust sales figures, Flanco has embarked on several key projects in 2024. The company has begun repositioning itself as Romania’s first Smart Discounter network in the electro-IT retail sector, which includes a rebranding initiative and a comprehensive store renovation process expected to span three years.
Flanco also expanded its footprint by opening five new stores in major cities across Romania, including its second locations in Brașov and Focșani, a fourth in Pitești, and an eleventh in Bucharest. Furthermore, the company made its first real estate acquisitions, where it plans to develop greenfield stores from the ground up.
Looking ahead, Flanco is set to launch its mobile app, Flanco Buzz, complete the rebranding of all stores in major shopping centers, and open four additional Smart Discounter stores in large cities by the end of the year.
