The Johann Strauss Festival will delight us again this year, both through the traditional waltzes and marches, but also through the organization of the premiere of this prestigious event in the building of the National Opera in Bucharest, one of the most spectacular buildings in the Romanian capital.
The Bucharest National Opera, an institution subordinated to the Ministry of Culture, is the most important stage dedicated to the musical and choreographic performance in Romania. The building of the Bucharest National Opera is an emblematic one, with the status of a historical monument, and was built between 1950-1952 and inaugurated in 1953. The first official show took place on 8th December 1921, the show "Lohengrin" by Richard Wagner, directed by George Enescu, and on 8th December 2021, the centenary premiere with the same title, directed by Silviu Purc?rete.
For more than 100 years, the Bucharest National Opera Orchestra has been an important landmark in the Romanian musical life. Present in the most important moments of reference on the Romanian lyrical scene, the Bucharest National Opera Orchestra enjoys a mature, experienced, professional, balanced and creative instrumental ensemble. Each event becomes a high-caliber musical experience, with spectators remembering a memorable evening.
