Investments in technology and fast delivery brought 13 times higher sales for tazz by eMAG in 2020

Investments and projects carried out over the past year by the tazz by eMAG platform generated sales with values ​​13 times higher than in 2019, food and commodities registering the largest increases.

The platform has reached over 1.2 million mobile application installations and over 500,000 active customers every month, being the most downloaded application in the "Food & Drink" category, according to a start-up press release.

"We thank customers, restaurants, and suppliers for the trust given to a new, local business in such a challenging year for everyone. Beyond the context of the pandemic, for us it was a year in which we went through a rebranding, we completely changed our technology, we enlarged our team six times and we launched very strong partnerships that, in the end, generated sales of 13 times higher than in the previous year. For the next year, the ambitions and investments are even bigger: we want to remain a basic partner for the industry and to grow together with our partners ", said Alin Șerban, CEO of tazz by eMAG.

The platform, which has reached a portfolio of over 6,000 partner restaurants and stores, aims to exceed the threshold of 10,000 partners next year and generate eight times more sales in 2021.

Tazz by eMAG's plans for the new year includes growing the network of suppliers across the country, as well as developing its own fleet of electric cars and scooters.

Of the investment of over 26 million lei made last year, most went to improving the user experience through the technology behind the platform, but also to improving the quality of delivery.

Also, an important part of these investments went to the digitization of small traders, who had easier access to the platform.

"Next year, tazz by eMAG plans to invest in improving the shopping experience through artificial intelligence, faster delivery, and expansion into new cities. In order to further support the development of the platform, tazz by eMAG will hire 100 IT specialists this year ", the communiqué reads.

Currently, customers can access tazz by eMAG offers in 22 cities: in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Iasi, Constanta, Brasov, Ploiesti, Craiova, Arad, Oradea, Sibiu, Deva, Alba Iulia, Baia Mare, Pitesti, Galați, Brăila, Reșița, Botoșani, Târgu Mureș, Suceava and Roman.

The platform aims to be present in all cities with a population of over 100,000 inhabitants in the next three years.

From food ordering to any products needed for the home, with fast delivery, in 60 minutes, tazz by eMAG is the result of the partnership concluded in autumn 2019 with eMAG, which became a shareholder of EuCeMananc with the aim of accelerating business development.
