What is virtual reality?

From a technical point of view, virtual reality is a space that can be visited on the Internet with an Internet browser and through worlds that are very real, or correspond to reality, or are fictional with varying degrees. That means being able to visit places you want at any time with a mouse click. Places that you have never been able to visit, or never will be. Because with virtual reality you can create fictional environments. On the emotional side, it is an incredibly great alternative to the living reality. With virtual reality we are independent of space and time. We can communicate with other people or go on a journey of discovery on our own.

What is special about virtual reality?

Comparing to other virtual communication tools, virtual reality excels in emotional stimulations. As human beings we form lasting memories through emotions. We see this whenever we have visitors in our Senses VR environment. People are fascinated by the ultra-realistic surroundings and amazed by how freely they can communicate with each other. They walk around, discover, pickup things with curiosity and delight. Through these interactions with the VR environment they experience memorable moments. We believe no other medium can produce comparable emotional responses as VR does, other than life itself.

Virtual Reality has been around for a few years. Why now?

From its inception, VR has always been on the fringe of everyday life. For most people it is for entertainment or gaming. The recent development of technology and 5G have paved the way for VR to unleash its extraordinary power. The pandemic and the lockdowns hit our private lives and businesses with devastating impacts. We need an urgent solution. At Senses VR we believe that the solution is VR. For businesses, a game-changing technology comes once in a couple of generations. For the past it was personal computer and the web. VR is destined to be the third and it will become bigger than the web itself. Now is the time to catch the fascinating and powerful wave of VR.

How did we or I get into virtual reality?

Well, personally, I have been dealing with virtual reality for many years and have followed its whole development very closely, but now with Covid-19 our lives are turned upside down. Everything changed. We can no longer communicate with each other as usual. We are deprived of the opportunity to exchange our emotions. From one day to the next we are at home. Shops closed, events canceled, travels restricted… and for some private and business contacts are lost completely.
Many business services require direct and immediate customer interactions. For example, in coaching, art or event. These are the industries suffering the most from the present situation and fighting for their survivals.
There are a few popular tools we use to keep our communications going, such as Facebook and Zoom. They are convenient tools for video calls or meetings, but there are shortcomings in these tools. People often feel exhausted and emotionally drained after Zoom meetings due to passively staring at the screen for long periods.
It is precisely at this difficult time that we need to come up with new solutions. At Senses VR we strive to find alternatives to reality that enable direct bidirectional communications. The existing, familiar tools are not enough. They are too mechanical. There is a lack of feeling. The emotion of how we treat one another is missing. I also realized that we have made ourselves very dependent on established media in some cases. We lack the horizon for new possibilities. I realized that despite all the technologies, we are becoming more and more lonely, as the general opinion leads us to believe. Exactly the opposite is the case. We need the emotional contacts in every area. Business as well as private. Our services and many products are worthless if we cannot convey emotions.
So, I started to dive deeper into virtual reality. And together with my team we tried to work out solutions. We researched which components we need. We brought in all the ideas on the technical as well as the emotional side. We had countless conversations with various coaches, CEOs of international companies, artists, event companies and governments. This helped us a lot to work out the actual needs. We are driven by the core question of what is necessary to arouse emotions and to transport them if we do not have the opportunity to face each other in real life. We realized that it can really be created with the technology of virtual reality.

How was the development of virtual reality?

So, we started implementing services over the many months of development. The technology was already there. But just like pieces of a puzzle. We tried to assemble the individual parts in such a way that they make sense for businesses. We quickly realized that we need to develop services that are easy to access, which are simple to call up and can be operated by anyone. The services must be accessible at any location, at any time and with any smartphone or tablet that has online access. The result was a service that offers affordable scenes in the virtual world. Individually and without any restrictions. We can create worlds that are either super realistic or absolute fantasy ones. Worlds that can stimulate the mind. In addition, we offer the opportunity to communicate with one another in these environments. It appeals to all senses, as it is not just something that can be viewed, because videos and photos can offer that as well. No, there are worlds in which everyone can move freely, in which everyone can communicate with everyone just like in real life. One of the important components is, for example, immersive 3D audio. Voices, sounds and noises come from certain directions and stay there as long as it is supposed to be static.
For example, if you have a conversation in virtual reality and move away from each other, the other’s voice also becomes quieter as in real life. Imagine you are at a virtual reality event and want to quickly exchange a few private words with one of the participants. Both of you can simply walk away from the other participants together. then nobody overhears your conversations. It is just like in real life. It is an important and convenient function that other popular tools do not provide.

What services do we offer?

We wanted to translate the feeling from real reality to virtual reality as closely as possible. We also offer to migrate your existing website to a virtual reality one. Visitors to your VR website are automatically in the virtual world. There is no scrolling up and down or clicking here and there. No, the visitor discovers your company by himself. The customer walks through your offices, exhibitions, or shops. And he is not alone. You or other customers can accompany him and have conversations. A whole group of customers can discover your services from your website. Isn’t that awesome? Instead of simply looking at a two-dimensional medium, it is now one hundred percent bi-directional interactive. All our customers using our services are absolutely delighted. They say this gives them a lot more opportunities to contact customers. For many companies, it is as if the customers were actually there. Their partnerships and relationships can be maintained again. Many feel as if they were in the same room together.
Our second service is to set up events. An event has a purpose. It is the presentation of a service or product in a communicative framework. This is exactly what most events want to achieve. The exchange with each other, the feeling of togetherness and interactions with the event visitors. We again achieve this virtual reality. As a result, we simulate reality and provide a channel for people to satisfy their basic needs for emotional connections.

Do you have specific industries and markets in which you operate?

We are industry independent. Our clients come from diverse industries and markets. All industries have one thing in common: To sell solutions or services. They want to fulfill a customer’s needs with their products. A good example for me is a company that sells drilling machines. What the company really sells are holes. Because the customer’s need is not to own a drill. He wants a hole in the wall. And that is what Senses VR is about. We satisfy the basic need for bidirectional communication and the pleasure of emotional experience. A positive game with emotions. That is what drives us and what we offer. Especially now, because many companies are struggling for survival and still will after the pandemic. It is necessary to restore customer contact on an emotional level.
